1. About Recoup and This Policy
Recoup app is a post-discharge care application (“App”) developed and provided by Posha Healthtech India Pvt Ltd (“Posha Healthtech,” “we,” “us,” “our”). The App is designed to support your recovery journey after a hospital stay, and is often provided to you through a partnership with your treating hospital or healthcare provider (“Hospital Partner”).
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use the Recoup App. It also describes your rights and choices regarding your information.
By downloading, accessing, or using the Recoup App, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Our Relationship with Your Hospital
The Recoup App is a tool to facilitate your post-discharge care plan as recommended by your healthcare team. We provide this App as a service provider to our Hospital Partners. Your primary treatment relationship remains with your hospital and doctors.
Your Hospital Partner is responsible for obtaining any necessary consents for the use of the App as part of your care. We process certain health information strictly on behalf of, and under the instructions of, your Hospital Partner, in accordance with our agreements with them and applicable data protection laws. 3. Information We Collect
To provide and improve the Recoup service, we collect the following categories of information:
A. Information You Provide Directly:
- Account and Profile Data: Information needed to create your account, which may include your name, mobile number, email address, date of birth, gender, and a unique identifier provided by your Hospital Partner.
- Health and Recovery Data: Information you log or report in the App related to your recovery, such as symptom checks, medication adherence, vital signs (e.g., weight, blood pressure), activity levels, and responses to care plan tasks.
- Communications: Any messages, queries, or feedback you send to us or your care team through the App.
- Voluntary Information: Information you choose to provide in surveys or feedback forms.
B. Information Collected Automatically:
- Device and Technical Data: Information about your mobile device, including operating system, device model, unique device identifiers (like IDFA or Android ID), IP address, and mobile network information.
- Usage Data: Details about your interaction with the App, such as features used, time and date of access, pages viewed, and time spent on the App.
- Log Information: Standard server logs that record technical data about your use for security and diagnostic purposes.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To Provide the Core Service: To deliver your personalized post-discharge care plan, allow you to track your recovery, and facilitate communication as intended with your care team.
- To Operate and Improve the App: To maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the App, and to develop new features to enhance user experience and care outcomes.
- For Analytics and Research: To analyze de-identified, aggregated data to understand recovery trends, improve our services, and contribute to medical research aimed at improving post-discharge care. Your personal identity is removed in this process.
- To Communicate with You: To send you important service-related notifications (e.g., appointment reminders, care plan updates), technical alerts, and administrative messages.
- To Ensure Safety and Compliance: To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or illegal activities, and to comply with our legal obligations.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We only share it in the following limited circumstances:
- With Your Hospital Partner: The primary purpose of the App is to share your logged health and recovery data with your authorized care team at the Hospital Partner that provided you access to Recoup. This sharing is governed by our contract with them.
- With Service Providers: We engage trusted third-party companies (“Processors”) to perform functions like cloud hosting, data analytics, and customer support. These partners are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only as we instruct.
- For Legal Reasons: Where required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Posha Healthtech, our users, or the public.
- In a Business Transfer: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of company assets, where user information may be transferred as a business asset. You will be notified via the App of any such change in ownership.
- With Your Consent: For any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information, or with your explicit permission.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect the security of your personal information, including encryption of sensitive data in transit and at rest. However, no electronic transmission or storage method is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and Correction: You can review and update your profile information directly within the App. For other requests, please contact us.
- Deleting Your Account: You may request to delete your Recoup account by contacting us at [support email]. Please note that we may retain certain information as required by law, for legitimate business purposes (like security), or as instructed by our Hospital Partner for your medical records.
- Marketing Communications: We do not use your health information for marketing. Any non-service-related communications will include an “unsubscribe” option.
- Device Permissions: You can manage the App’s access to certain device functions (like notifications) through your device settings.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or as directed by our Hospital Partner for continuity of your medical record.
9. International Data Transfers
Posha Healthtech operates in India. Your information is processed and stored on secure servers, which may be located in India or other countries. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data when such transfers occur.
10. Links to Other Services
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., educational resources). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Recoup is intended for use by discharged patients, typically adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18 without verified parental consent. If we learn we have done so, we will delete that information.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices. The updated version will be posted in the App with a revised “Effective Date.” Your continued use of Recoup after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
